Ok, Its been quite a while since I've done any updates. The markets have been busy melting down of late what with all the subprime mess, and there perhaps has been a bit of a damper on splashy acquisition headlines for a while...
But here is a good one for the IPO section. Redherring is reporting that NameMedia has filed for a $172.5M IPO, with Credit Suisse as the lead underwriter. You will find another IPO filing for a domain company underwritten by Credit Suisse in my archive section. Interesting.
It appears that NameMedia is a competitor of Marchex, with hundreds of thousands of domains in its portfolio, but they also have some very interesting top tier generics such as Photography.com.
